"My passion stems from personal experience with Postpartum Depression. PPD almost claimed a life in 2019. It was the thought of my children without a mother that gave me the strength to keep going. It took me a while to realize, but this is my living testimony. If I could be the person I needed during that crucial period of time, I could be a blessing to another single woman or family.
I have a heart that beats warmly for everyone I meet. Working with families on their postpartum journey will always be an personal and honorable experience. It troubles me to realize there are very little resources or help for women of color. Most women of color are left untreated or misdiagnosed or are offered no support at all from underserved or low income based areas. Reaching out for help seemed pointless. As a black woman, I had no choice but to remain strong and show strength and resilience for the sake of my children.
I knew my purpose was to nurture, empower, and create an environment where families or single parents can rest, recover, and bond with their newborns. This is what I needed. It may not solve a worldwide need for Postpartum Support, but this is my way of giving back especially to single mothers. Not every person has a village and not every village supports one another.
Without adequate support, treatment or care, you may feel overwhelmed, isolated, and exhausted, which can impact your well-being and ability to care for yourself and baby."
